CD-RW
An
internal CD-Rom burner is another option for saving data.
Mama favors backing up stuff to a CD because all computers come with
CDs now. Zip drives are popular, but everyone does not have one.
CD-Rom burners come with a variety of software programs for
creating disks. There are two kinds of disks you can burn: data and
direct. A data disk is also known as a CD-R. The “R” stands for
“read.” You write your files to the CD once, then read it as often
as you need. Direct CDs are referred to as CD-RW. The “W” means
“write.” Direct CDs are like floppy disks or zip drives: you can
copy the files to them again and again. A direct CD is formatted,
first, using the CD creator software. However, keep in mind that not
all computers can read a direct CD.
Now we have a simple, inexpensive way to back up our files.
Sometimes the magic works. Here’s hoping that your problems are
simple ones. Computers! Yea, we love them, don’t we?
