Installing A Modem

Talk I want to connect Mama’s computer to the Internet!! As always, we
need hardware and software. Let’s start with the hardware.
Modems send and transmit digital signals over the phone, the TV cable,
and high speed data lines such as ISDN. Most people use a phone modem,
and that’s what I’m going to install in Mama’s machine. The hardware
installation is simple: gently position the modem in a PCI slot on the
motherboard and secure the modem to the case with a couple of screws.
Windows will detect the new hardware when the computer reboots. The
hardware wizard will notify you that it found the new hardware. Add the
software drivers when you are prompted. Done and done.
