Using Your Connections
Now, when you
launch your Internet browser the modem will dial your Internet Service
Provider. The Dialer pops up and asks for your user name and password.

Did you get an
error message when you tried to dial? Modems usually have two
connections: one for the phone line and another if you want to plug a
phone into the back of your computer. If there is no dial tone, try the
other connection.
Did that seem like a lot of steps? Yep, yep, yep. It’s not as easy as
plugging in a phone, is it? In spite of the effort, it’s worth it....O
