Title:
Using Flash Animation to Reach
Asperger’s Students,
Comma
Productions, Alex Sergay,
Elizabeth Nofs
Description:
The Livingston Education Services
Authority (LESA), Michigan Rehabilitation, and the Livingston
Regional Michigan Technical Education Center (MTEC) invited us
to develop computer training for high school students with
Asperger's Syndrome
. Asperger’s is a
form of autism.
The High
School Career Challenge offered 10 2-hour classes in Microsoft
Office and FLASH animation. The program included job shadowing
and life skills that were supported by counselors from LESA and
Michigan Rehabilitation Services.
The
students’ final project was very ambitious: to create a banner
ad that conformed to the professional requirements for Yahoo.
